DEVELOPMENTS IN THE LAW -
THE MORRISON LAW JOURNAL

The Morrison Law Group is responsible for publishing The Morrison Law Journal, a monthly legal journal which discusses important developments in California law.

The June 2010 edition of The Morrison Law Journal discusses the California Court of Appeal, Second District, decision in Valencia v. Smyth (2010) D.A.R. 8103 where the Court ruled that a California trial court has the discretion to deny a Petition to Compel Arbitration in certain matters involving the California Association of Realtors standard form residential purchase agreement - even though the present form of the agreement specifically provides that the arbitration contract is to be interpreted under the Federal Arbitration Act which does not provide the trial court such discretion.
